Cooking, should it be done only by mothers? No, not at all . Children too should take it up for gaining a hands on experience and build up their cooking skills in order to be helping hands to their mothers. To harness this understanding and a sense of responsibility in them we provided our students of grade 1 to 10 a platform to exhibit their cooking talents by conducting a FIRELESS COOKING ACTIVITY. Donning their Chef Caps our young cooks exhibited their culinary skills with great zeal. We were awestruck to see them dole out their nutritious and delicious preparations like Vegetable Salad, Fruit Salad, Lemon Juice , Custard and many more . The objective of conducting this activity was to create awareness in students about the nutritious value of food cooked without fire, and the necessity and advantages of healthy eating, and also developing a sense of appreciation for their mothers who put in great efforts to provide good nutrition to them. The creative display of dishes was in itself a visual treat. It was indeed a marvelous presentation done with utmost hygienic observation and guidance of their teachers. Their efforts were evaluated on the basis of taste, Ingredients used, Presentation, Health and Hygiene. The event not only provided a platform for the students to foster their creativity and decision making skills but also helped them explore their hidden talents and discover new areas of interest. With the support of the Management, the valuable guidance of Principal Madam Josephine and assistance of the Staff the children enjoyed this new learning experience.
